But Xbox is big like ox! Past that it's just a goofy in-joke, though. I mean, I think it says it all that the place I was introduced to the word was an old page of Gahiggidy's. http://web.archive.org/web/20021120150706/http://www.sales-age.com/ , alt text.

Joshua J. I'm just now listening to these older casts, and caught the stuff about Animal Crossing and myself. Some further information and clarification, in case anyone notices this:

What I emailed Alex about wasn't the haikus, but to tell him that apparently the discs we got are sought by collectors. Not "$5000 NES game" sought, but after putting an image of my disc up on MobyGames ( http://www.mobygames.com/game/gamecube/animal-crossing/cover-art/gameCoverId,30394/ ) I've occasionally gotten people asking what I want for it, one guy straight up offering $100. As a sentimental packrat Nintendo whore I wouldn't let it go, but thought other folks might be more willing to let it go. Unfortunately my disc has since gone missing anyway; a friend wanted to borrow it after seeing the Wii version, remembers returning it, and I don't remember receiving it. So best case, it's camouflaged somewhere in one of our houses.

The haikus however, are still around. Thanks to putting it online, it even survives some recent hard drive braindeath difficulties. As follows is our old entry of 50 words or less:

Haiku

-----

Josh:

Twenty-four seven
Three six five (or six) per year
Animal Crossing

If can't Pioneer,
Mario would stay in Cube;
Legs would atrophy!

-----

Alex:

Night and Day system
It sounds promising to me
Acting as if real

And when connected
To my small Game Boy Advance
Possibilities!

pixelsnatch comments on Snatchcast 009: Extra Hateful

Gamecube controller...secret best controller ever.

Matthew Floratos comments on Snatchcast 009: Extra Hateful

I might have something you guys could talk to or address. I just bought a GameCube; received it in the mail today as a matter of fact. I'm a Sony kid - not a fanboy or anything, but Sony usually have all the games I want to play - so I know very, very little about the GameCube apart from the fact that it looks like a duplo block. (Actually, mine's black, not purple. But I do like the handle at the back for easy, child-friendly transport. Oh, Nintendo.)

So, seeing as I know so little about the GameCube, I'd find it pretty helpful if anybody had suggestions regarding what games to get and what a reasonable price is for them. Maybe ten or fifteen games I should be looking to pick up?

P.S. Yes, I know the Wii is backwards compatible, but I don't have a Wii. I got my 'Cube for $18 anyway, so I figure it's a pretty good deal. Though I'll probably end up getting a Wii this Christmas because I'm a douche. Oh, and, is it just me, or are the GameCube controllers really comfortable? Like, they've got grooves built for the hands. I like, I like. I don't like the analog stick where the d-pad should be, though (unlike the Dual Shock).
